We tried to hide it for as long as we could.
But someone on LinkedIn had to come along and nominate Scott for the WA Young Achievers Award.
And now it’s out there: Helium’s founder, Scott Ingram, is Young (25). And from WA. Oh – and an Achiever.
As one of 3 finalists for the WFI Insurance Small Business Achiever Award, Scott will find out the judge’s decision on May 26 at a gala dinner.
But there’s more…
This gives the power to the people, to vote for the finalist they think should win. We’re putting it out there to our clients to get behind Scott. The People’s Choice Award is purely decided on votes.
Click on Scott Ingram, then scroll down to cast your vote.
You can vote once a day up until May 21.
Thanks for your support!
My hope for these awards that I inspire other people just that bit younger than me who also have ideas and drive, that they can make that happen. I want to say to that young person out there who is at high school or uni with a dream of owning a business, you can go and make it happen. If you don't, someone else will. Why not you?!
Scott Ingram, 25, started Helium alone in his bedroom, using McDonald’s as a second office when the internet went down. He saved up $3,000, and – of course – spent it all on marketing! Spending his days door knocking businesses. Some days he handed out 600 business cards – and picked up the printer as a client along the way!
Helium now employs 9 staff. It has doubled its turnover every year over the last 3 years.
